579a288351 public posts are now accessible by your friends, and facebook and twitter include a permalink. we prob want to link shorten these bad boys(and it has a max length of 140 chars, with a permalink), also, facebook and twitter posting are sync, but that will make it more reliable 2010-12-02 18:48:50 -08:00

279b08ae4a Added inflection of nouns by the grammatical gender for some languages. 
- New module I18n::Backend::Genderize keeps configuration and adds :gender option to translate().
- Module methods in Genderize allow fast checking if language needs gender and guessing gender.
- jQuery in views/users/edit.html.haml shows and hides grammatical gender select list when needed.
- Span and select list in views/users/edit.html.haml allows to choose grammatical gender.
- Key :grammatical_gender in User model keeps grammatical gender information.
- Added some methods to language_helper.rb.
- UsersController is aware of grammatical gender and is able to guess it when "getting started".

df31de2898 Generate all content in public/ before server starts. 
Introduces a delay first time the server is started, but makes all resources
available to jammit. Can be disabled by flag in config/server.sh. Hopefully
silences jammit's messages about application.css et. al. not found

b6648cb9e2 Handle jammit by precaching in script/server. 
This introduces some jammit warnings in 'rake spec'. These seem
to be just warnings. To get rid of them, take steps as described in
https://github.com/diaspora/diaspora/wiki/Installing-and-Running-Diaspora
in the "Read-only Installation" (sic!) chapter.

229e202a72 Take httponly off of session cookies so that the websocket works in firefox 3.x. XSS attacks would now be easier to exploit if found. 0c30f544d9 Fallback to static version data if git unavailable. 
Uses the file config/gitversion if git is unavailable.  This is to
support deployment without git (which will be necessary). Installation

dc5b321b62 sorry for the monster commit.... 4 small chores...1) moved tons of dynamic javascript to haml partials in the new js view folder, and moved some of the js that got put in the application layout into view.js 2. set up a static config prefrence loader in initializers, loaded from yaml 3) fixed the top right login text from being pushed over. 4) fixed a bug when no user is on the node and someone hits the landing page.... you still cant create a new user from there, but now at least it doesnt blow up. 2010-06-30 00:27:11 -07:00
